GUNT Technology Builds on Successful October Hydrogen Events

Two industry events in two weeks have given GUNT Technology valuable opportunities to discuss the future of hydrogen training, showcase practical learning equipment and connect with people working across the hydrogen sector.

October has been a busy month for us, with attendance at the Hydrogen Scotland Annual Conference in Glasgow on 6 October, followed by the IChemE Hydrogen Innovation and Technology Conference in Manchester on 14–15 October.

Both events provided a valuable opportunity to meet industry professionals, educators and others involved in the development of hydrogen technologies, with skills and workforce training an important part of the wider conversation.

Bringing practical hydrogen training into focus

At both events, GUNT Technology showcased the ET 278 Principles of the H₂ Circuit (PEM), giving visitors an opportunity to explore how practical training can help learners understand hydrogen technologies.

Feedback on the ET 278 was very positive at both events, with strong interest in the system and its potential to support hydrogen education and training.

The equipment combines a PEM electrolyser, hydrogen storage buffer tank and PEM fuel cell to demonstrate how electrical energy can be converted into hydrogen through electrolysis and then converted back into electrical energy using a fuel cell. Integrated control and data acquisition support practical investigation of the processes involved.

The positive response reinforced the value of hands-on equipment in helping learners connect theoretical principles with the technologies used across the hydrogen sector.

Developing the skills to support the hydrogen economy

The events also highlighted the importance of developing the knowledge and practical skills needed to support the continued growth of the hydrogen sector.

As hydrogen technologies advance, education and training providers have an important role to play in preparing the engineers and technicians who will work with these systems. Access to relevant training equipment and supporting learning resources can help learners build an understanding of the technologies, processes and principles involved.

GUNT Technology Ltd is an industry leader in hydrogen training, supporting universities, colleges and technical and vocational education providers through GUNT H₂Skills. This comprehensive training approach combines hands-on equipment with digital learning resources, tutorial software, videos and web-based e-learning.

The programme covers technologies across the hydrogen value chain, from production and purification through to storage and end-use applications, helping educators deliver training that reflects the practical demands of the sector.

Continuing the conversation

The success of both events reinforces the value of bringing education, training and industry together to discuss the skills needed for hydrogen technologies. Meeting people from across the sector also provides an opportunity to understand the challenges facing educators and training providers, and how practical learning can help address them.

We would like to thank everyone who visited our stands, took the time to speak with the team and shared their perspectives at Hydrogen Scotland and the IChemE conference.

We look forward to continuing these conversations and supporting the development of practical hydrogen training across the UK and Ireland.
