During the latter months of 2021 we delivered seven pieces of equipment to the University of Birmingham; Our HM250 and all the associated accessories. Three of our new ET500 PLC Controlled Air Compressors and three purpose adapted ET810 Steam Engines with an upgraded electrical boiler rather than the traditional propane fired boiler.

Delivery

The deliveries and commissioning works took place during the 2021 lockdowns and as such our German technical team could not travel to the UK.

In order to enable the customer to use the equipment, our UK service engineer carried out a filmed familiarisation session on all the units, so the university team could gain a good understanding of the units which enabled them to operate the units.

When the UK borders opened up again, one of our experienced German Service Engineers went to Birmingham to present the in-depth training across the product range delivered.

Post Delivery Works

Our PLC controlled compressor comes standard with remote access and digital data extraction via the university’s LAN network. However, after delivery the customer asked that we change the unit so physical data extraction was possible in the lab via USB.

Working with the GUNT software team and electrical department we retrofitted the ET500 units with USB connectivity, which still allowed for digital data extraction.

The ET810 although modified to have an electrical boiler was delivered with an analogue voltmeter and ammeter. At the request of the customer, we retrofitted all three ET810 units to have two digital displays.
